Scrolling with logitech Marball Trackball?

Michael D. Setzer II
I just had to replace an old Microsoft Trackball that had warn out
with a scroll wheel with a new Logitech marball trackball. This one
doesn't have a scroll wheel, but has two extra buttons that put it in
scroll mode so the ball will then do the scrolling. Works fine on the
client side, but when connected via vnc nothing happens with the
buttons?

Is there some option either with the vnc or with the trackball to get
the scrolling to work.

Thanks.
